MapQuest Gets Major, Extensive Overhaul
Denver-based MapQuest, the online mapping service which was part of AOL--but has since been swallowed up by Verizon--released a major, extensive overhaul this week, with a new logo, totally new navigation interface, and much more. MapQuest became part of Verizon back in May, in a $4.4 billion deal, one of many properties owned by AOL. The new interface uses many tools from Mapbox, and also takes a mobile-first, location-bsaed approach to navigation and mapping, versus a prior desktop-centric approach.
