Notion, Jolt Semi-Finalists In Cisco Innovation Competition
Two startups in the region--Boulder, Colorado-based Notion, and Provo, Utah-based Jolt, have been selected out of nearly 3,000 participants in a high profile, innovation and startup competition run by Cisco. Cisco said Thursday that the two companies are among the 15, semi-finalists for its Cisco Innovation Grand Challenge competition, which promises to give out $150,000 to a company developing the "next best thing" in the Internet-of-Things area. The two will now compete to be one of the final six companies, who will compete in Dubai for the $150,000 top award in the competition. Notion is developing a sensor to figure out what is going on with your home at any time, remotely; Jolt develops task management software for managing and understanding employee behavior and productivity.
