Level 3 Buys Black Lotus For DDoS Mitigation
Broomfield, Colorado-based Level 3 has acquired Black Lotus, a developer of Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation services, the company said last week. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Level 3 said the buy will add new capabilities to its existing, DDoS service. Level 3 said the buy comes due to an increase in frequency, volume and complexity of DDoS attacks in the last few years. Black Lotus was based in San Francisco, and backed by Industry Capital.
