Mobius Venture Capital Gets Exit At deCarta, Via Uber
Boulder-based Mobius Venture Capital, the legacy venture firm of Brad Feld, Seth Levine, Ryan McIntyre ,and Jason Mendelson, has seen a long-awaited exit at one of its portfolio firms, deCarta. deCarta--based in San Jose, California--said yesterday it had been acquired by Uber, to help bolster Uber's mapping efforts. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Mobius--the predecessor to Foundry Ventures--made investments from 1996 through 2006. deCarta was founded in 1996. It's unclear how much of a stake Mobius still has in deCarta, as the firm is no longer listed as an investor in the company, although Mobius said deCarta was part of its final fund, Mobius VI--the same fund that invested in Danger, FeedBurner, Infinera, Postini, and Sling Media, among others.
