Zayo Links Wall Street, New Jersey
Boulder-based Zayo Group, the provider of bandwidth and fiber connectivity led by Dan Caruso, has completed a link between the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Data Center facility and a facility in Mahwah, New Jersey, the company said this morning. Zayo said its new link is the shortest, lowest latency fiber route currently available between the locations. The two locations are a very popular place for financial companies, who have traditionally been very early adopters of high speed Internet and computing technology. Those firms use New Jersey as the nearest hot backup site to their Wall Street operations, as well as for expanded computing resources. Those operations are typically highly sensitive to latency--and reliability--due to their involvement with high speed, financial trading and other transactions.
