DISH Network Jumps On Bitcoin Bandwagon
The Rocky Mountain region continues to be the leader in Bitcoin adoption, with the latest, large company here to start accepting the alternative currency being DISH Network. In a partnership with Coinbase, DISH Network will start accepting bitcoin payments for its subscription television services. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Bitcoin has seen some significant adoption among high tech companies in the region, with Utah e-commerce retailer Overstock.com being the first, major e-commerce company to start accepting Bitcoin; and Colorado Congressman Jared Polis even accepting Bitcoin for his campaign. A Provo, Utah couple even launched a Kickstarter campaign last year to help fund a (yet to be produced) documentary about living on Bitcoin for their first 90 days of marriage.
