Ancestry.com Bolsters Irish American Historical Records
Family history site Ancestry.com is bolstering its database of historical records ahead of St. Patrick's day, saying Thursday that it has added over three million historical records for people of Irish descent. According to the company, the new data includes 25,000 birth, marriage, and death records from the 1855 and 1865 Massachusetts state census, as well as other information, which it gained through a partnership with the New England Historic Genealogic Society. The company also said it added more than 750,000 new records from the Irish Roman Catholic Church, as part of the expansion.
