Excelsius Surgical Acquired By Globus Medical
Phoenix, Arizona-based Excelsius Surgical, a company developing surgical robots for the spine, brain, and other surgical markets, has been acquired by Globus Medical. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Excelius Surgical was developed in conjunction with Dignity Health;s Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, and was co-founded by Neil R. Crawford and Nicholas Theodore. Globus Medical said it expects Excelsius Surgical's systems to gain FDA clearance in 2015.
