MapQuest Launches New Mobile App
Denver-based MapQuest has launched a brand new, redesigned mobile app for both the iPhone and Android today, saying that it is looking to make it easier for people to get to destinations faster and more efficiently. The company--which is a subsidiary of AOL--said that it has added such features as an "ETA" bar letting drivers get an estimate of when they will arrive at a location; faster input of addresses with less typing; a new way to "mute" voice assisted directions; and a "home" and "work" button to make it easier to get directions from anywhere to those locations. MapQuest also said it has added higher resolution maps, interactive map layers, and social sharing features.
