GoDaddy Buys Afternic
Scottsdale, Arizona-based domain name giant GoDaddy is acquiring Afternic, on online domain marketplace which lets people buy and sell domain names. Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal was first disclosed to Afternic's customers. According to the email to Afternic's customers, Afternic will continue to operate under its own brand. Both GoDaddy and Afternic are active in the domain aftermarket, where registrars and others offer up expired or expiring domain names for bids.
