DISH Ties Into GetGlue
Englewood, Colorado-based satellite television operator DISH said this week that it has linked its mobile apps into GetGlue, the startup providing social television information. According to DISH, it has incorporated features from GetGlue into its iPad second screen app, DISH Explorer. The new tool lets users "check in" to TV shows, movies, and sporting events, and access information such as pictures, comments, videos, tweets, and more. Financial details of the deal between GetGlue and DISH were not announced. GetGlue is based in New York, and is backed by Rho Ventures, RRE Ventures, Time Warner, and Union Square Ventures.
