MapQuest Enhances Traffic Routing On Mobile Apps
Users of the mobile mapping software from MapQuest will be happy about the latest feature of those iPhone and Android apps: traffic-based routing. MapQuest said over the weekend that it has rolled out better, traffic-based routing on those apps, which optimizes the route for drivers based on traffic conditions. MapQuest said its apps now automatically check traffic conditions and adjusts your route, based on what kinds of traffic congestion is detected on your way to a location. MapQuest is tapping traffic location data from INRIX for its real-time traffic information coverage. The apps from Denver-based MapQuest are free from their respective app stores.
