Salt Lake City First For Mobile Wallet Effort
Salt Lake City is one of the first two markets to roll out for a mobile wallet effort backed by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless. Isis, a joint venture of the three wireless carriers, said this morning that consumers can visit any AT&T, T-Mobile or Verizon retail location in Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas, to get a NFC-enabled SIM card, which will allow users to pay for retail purchases with their mobile phone. The secure payment product--which runs in conjunction with an Android app--lets users pay for items using their phone and a linked American Express, Capital One or Chase credit card.
