Grow America Plans To Award $500K In Cash, Awards
Salt Lake City-based Grow America, the firm led by Alan Hall which is looking to spur entrepreneurship in Utah--and beyond--said this week that it will pay a total of $500,000 in cash and awards at its Q1 Championship Event. Grow America has been encouraging would-be entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and business plans to the group, The first round of the group's competition have only been open to entrepreneurs in Utah, but has plans to expand elsewhere. The group says its pitch events are like a cross of "American Idol" with "Shark Tank". The company's partner in the events include Zions Bank, Comcast, Comcast Spotlight, KUTV2 (Utah), The JAZZ and KJZZ. The company said its event will be held in early first quarter, 2013.
