Utah Group Dangles $1M In Prizes To Entrepreneurs
The newly announced Grow America Springboard regional business competitions said Tuesday that it has amassed $1 million in cash awards and other resources, which it intends to award to companies over the course of three events in 2012 in Utah. The group said that the competitions--the first which will take place on May 21, 2012--are aimed at helping entrepreneurs to create new jobs and lift local economies. The competitions require that entrants must live in Utah, or that business operations and jobs be located in Utah, among other requirements. The new program, which is headed by Utah entrepreneur and investor Alan E. Hall, expands on a similar set of smaller scale competitions called Grow Utah, which Hall has been running for the last few years.
