EcoScraps Digs Up $1.5M
Provo, Utah-based EcoScraps, a manufacturer of chemical-free, organic lawn and garden products, including compost, has raised $1.5M in a Series A funding, the firm said today. The round was led by Kickstart Seed Fund, and also included DBL Investors and Peterson Ventures. EcoScraps, headed by Dan Blake, said the new funding will go toward expanding its products into new markets, further developing its line of products, and for talent. EcoScraps composts produce waste--fruits and vegetables--from local grocery stores and restaurants, and turns that into usable compost and lawn and garden products. The firm said its use of those products--instead of typical manure and similar products--are sustainable and contain twice the amount of essential soil nutrients.
