Zayo Eyes Small Cell Market
Louisville, Colorado-based bandwidth provider Zayo is eyeing the small cell market, the firm said yesterday, and has launched a dedicated team to focus on that market. Small cell deployment efforts are being used by wireless providers to better provide coverage to their customers, by attaching smaller antennas to lamp posts, buildings, and other urban locations. Zayo said the new group reports to Matt Erickson, President of Zayo Fiber Solutions. Zayo said it already has a hand in the market, with 100 small cell locations in three metropolitan markets.
