Zayo: Fiber-to-the-Tower Move Paying Off
Boulder-based Zayo Group, the provider of fiber bandwith, said this week that its move into the Fiber-to-the-Tower market is paying off for the company. According to Zayo, it has been seeing "strong returns" from follow-on sales activity to its customers for those FTT installs. Zayo offers up its fiber-to-the-tower to major wireless carriers, who are using Zayo's bandwidth for wireless backhaul. Zayo said it saw a great er than 20 percent return on approximately $23M of incremental net capital investments for providing services to over 800 tower and small cell sites. The company said its total volume of tower and small cell sales increased more than 50 percent in the first half of 2015, compared with the same period in 2014.
