MyHeritage Tops One Billion Profiles
Provo, Utah-based MyHeritage, which operates an online family history and genealogy site, reported yesterday that it has reached one billion profiles on the site. According to the company, the one billion individuals cover nearly 23 million family tress. MyHeritage also said it has more than 63 million registered users. MyHeritage--which also has significant operations in Tel Aviv, Israel--said it adds about one million profiles per day to its network. The firm is in a head to head competition with crosstown rival Ancestry.com to provide a variety of family history resources to users. Ancestry.com is public; MyHeritage is venture backed by Accel Partners and Index Ventures.
