TechStars Goes For Repeat At Microsoft Accelerator
Boulder-based TechStars, the startup accelerator program run by David Cohen, said this morning that it has booked a repeat engagement with Microsoft to power that firm's Microsoft Accelerator program. According to TechStars, starting this fall, Microsoft will kick off a second cycle of its acceleration program--this time, focused on Windows Azure, the firm's cloud computing service. TechStars had powered up Microsoft's first acceleration program, which was focused on Kinect applications, selecting 11 companies to fund from 500 that applied. TechStars said its new effort will provide $60,00 in platform credit as part of the new accelerator effort, plus $20,000 in investment from TechStars, among other benefits.
