Foundry Backs 3D Printer Firm MakerBot
Boulder-based venture capital firm Foundry Group said this morning that it has led a $10M, funding round for a maker of 3D printers, Makerbot Industries. According to Foundry, MakerBot is developing a low cost, commercial 3D printer. Brad Feld, Managing Director at Foundry Group, joins MakerBot Industries' board of directors as part of the funding. Other investors in the round include Bezos Expeditions, True Ventures, RRE, as well as angels Shana Fisher/High Line Venture Partners, Kal Vepuri, Steve Garfield, Jake Lodwick, Chuck and Claudia Pettis, Founder Collective, Antonio Rodriguez, True Ventures, Matt Mullenweg, Sam Lessin, Joshua Schachter, Lerer Ventures, 500 Startups, and Thrive Capital.
