SparkFun Targets Electronics Beginners With New Product Line
Boulder, Colorado-based SparkFun, the online, retail store focused on selling electronics parts to enthusiasts, said Tuesday that it has launched a new line of products aimed at beginners. The firm said its new ProtoSnap product line is aimed at novice electronic enthusiasts, and features various input and output boards which can be easily linked together to prototype projects. The new kits are an attempt to avoid the difficulty of soldering, wires, and other typical prototype limitations. SparkFun said its first kids are the ProtoSnap Pro Mini, the ProtoSnap LilyPad Development Board and the ProtoSnap LilyPad E-sewing kit.
