SparkFun: Hack Your Own Android Accessory
Ever get the hankering that you'd like to build something to connect to your Android phone? Well, it's just gotten a little easier, after Boulder-based SparkFun announced this week that it has launched out a new product--the "Electric Sheep"--to allow hackers to do just that. The new device connects into the open USB protocols provided by Android, to allow inventors to create their own, custom Android accessories. The new device includes a microcontroller, USB connector, and other components needed to connect to Android phones. SparkFun said the new device costs $79.95. SparkFun provides electronics parts and kits to hobbyists who like to create their own electronics products.
