Gearbox Gets Angel Funds
Boulder, Colorado-based Gearbox, a stealth mode firm in TechStars which is developing products related to phone controlled open devices, has raised some angel funding, according to TechStars. According to the startup acceleration effort, the funding actually came from Jeff Powers and Vikas Reddy of Occipital. Amount of the investment was not disclosed. Occipital is also a TechStars company, and recently sold its RedLaser software to eBay. TechStars said the investment appears to be the first instance of a past TechStars company founder investing in a new TechStars company.
