SpotterRF Gets Funding From In-Q-Tel
Orem, Utah-based SpotterRF, a developer of miniaturized radar systems used for tactical surveillance by the military, has scored a funding round from In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the CIA. SpotterRF did not disclose financial terms of the investment, but said the deal included both a strategic investment and development agreement with IN-Q-Tel. SpotterRF has created a miniaturized radar system which can be mounted on vehicle or otherwise set up easily in the field, and can be used to detect ground movement and track personnel movement within a 148 acre space. The firm said its product is ideal for the military, to provide ambush alerts at night and in poor weather conditions.
