Public Engines Sues SpotCrime.com
Salt Lake City-based Public Engines, the firm which runs CrimeReports.com, said late last week that it has sued ReportSee, Inc, the operator of SpotCrime.com. According to Public Engines, the lawsuit, filed in federal court in Utah, alleges that ReportSee has misappropriated its data and is in violation of its Terms of Use. Public Engines said that "we are not willing to allow third parties to misappropriate and re-publish the data without any accountability to those terms, simply for their own commercial profit."
