MapQuest Aims At Developers
Denver-based MapQuest said today that the firm is looking to attract developers to its mapping platform, with a new set of web services. The firm said that its new MapQuest Platform 6.0 is debuting at SXSW in Austin, and will offer such services at creating static maps, directions, geocoding, real time traffic, and geographic search. The firm offers both a free and and enterprise versions of its APIs, which compete against similar mapping offerings from Google and Microsoft. MapQuest is a subsidiary of AOL.
