Venafi Gets Patent
Salt Lake City-based Venafi, a developer of management tools for encryption, said today that it has gained a patent for the firm's methods for automating various encryption key management operations. The firm said it received patent 7,568,095, Method of Aggregating Multiple Certificate Authority Services from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. According to the U.S. PTO, the patent was actually granted back on July 28th, and names Russel S. Thornton, Benjamin Hodson, and Jayson Seegmiller as inventors. Venafi's patent was filed on August 13, 2004, with the firm being represented by Echelon IP, LLC.
