eBay Consolidation Benefits Salt Lake City
Online auction giant eBay said late Tuesday that the firm is consolidating its North American customer service facilities, which will result in closure of the firm's Vancouver, Canada facility. However, eBay said that the closure is expected to benefit the firm's Salt Lake City operations, where it currently employs more than 900; the firm said its intent is to increase the number of customer service agents at that facility. eBay said the move would help it "capture efficiencies" at the firm. The number of new jobs expected in Salt Lake was not disclosed by the online auction firm.
