NewsGator Upgrades Widget Software
Denver-based NewsGator Technologies said Thursday that the firm has released a new version of the firm's widget platform, which is used by media companies to build and deploy web widgets. According to NewsGator, the upgraded Editor's Desk 2.1 software redesigns the user interface, adds new templates, and also includes search tools and monitoring enhancements. NewsGator's widget product is part of its offering to help media companies and content publishers extend into the social media and Web 2.0 technology world. The firm sells those products to publishers such as CNN, Newsweek, National Geographic, Reuters, USA Today, and others. NewsGator is a developer of RSS and other related software, and is venture backed by Masthead Venture Partners, Mobius Venture Capital, and Vista Ventures.
