Holochip Adds $2.7M
Albuquerque, New Mexico-based Holochip has raised $2.7M in a funding round, led by ITU Ventures, the firm said this week. The Series A round follows an earlier initial funding form ITU Ventures and the New Mexico Angels. Holochip is a developer of technology for zoom lenses for cell phone cameras and mobile devices, called adaptive polymer lenses (APLs). The round also included a strategic investment from Itochu Corp. of Japan, and comes in conjunction with a partnership to fabricate and sell Holochip's products in Japan.
