Mapquest Upgrades Mobile App
Online travel atlas MapQuest.com, a Denver-based subsidiary of AOL LLC, revealed Monday that the latest version of its voice-guided, GPS-enabled wireless application, MapQuest Navigator 5.0, is now available to customers on its Web site via a new, direct-to-consumer storefront. MapQuest Navigator 5.0 is a mobile version of the popular MapQuest Web site that also includes live traffic updates, AOL CityGuide ratings and a gas price and station locator. MapQuest said customers who register for the offering at its web site before Dec. 31 can download the application directly to their handset and purchase the service for the promotional price of $4.99 per month for the life of the subscription.
