Motorola Sells Tempe Division For $350M
Motorola and Emerson said today that Emerson is acquiring Motorola's Tempe, Arizona-based Embedded Communications Computing (ECC) business, in a $350M deal. Emerson and Motorola said that the all-cash deal will make Motorola's ECC business part of Emerson Network Power, and is expected to close by the end of the year. Motorola's ECC business had 2006 revenues of approximately $520M, the firms said. Motorola employs roughly 1,100 people at the Embedded Communications and Computing business in Tempe. Emerson did not disclose its plans for the workforce at the location.
