Cable services provider Liberty Global Inc. revealed Wednesday that it has hired Balan Nair as its senior vice president and chief technology officer. Liberty said Nair will be responsible for overseeing the company's global network and technology operations, which span four continents and more than 30 million homes. Nair comes to Liberty from America Online, where he served as the company's CTO and executive vice president. Prior to AOL, Nair worked 12 years at Qwest Communications, rising to the level of CIO and CTO. Headquartered in Englewood, Colorado, Liberty Global is a provider of video, voice and broadband Internet access services.
