Boulder, Salt Lake City Top Venture Capital List
A new study released this month by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston found that Boulder, Colorado, and Salt Lake City, Utah, topped the list of the twenty highest-performing secondary cities in attracting venture capital. The list, which excluded cities outside the 40 largest U.S. metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs), found that Boulder, Colorado was number 1 measured in terms of the investments that it has been able to attract, followed by Salt Lake City, Utah at number 2. Tucson, Arizona ranked fourteen on the list. The study was conducted with the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City (ICIC) and covered investments from January 2003 to August 2005.
