Dot Hills Gets Patent
Dot Hill Systems, a California-based provider of data storage systems that maintains an engineering and development team in Longmont, announced this week that it has received a patent from the United States Patent and Trademark office. The patent, 7,062,591, covers the use of direct memory access (DMA) engines in network storage controllers. The patent is entitled "Controller Data Sharing Using a Modular DMA Architecture" was to its engineering team in Longmont, Colorado. The technology is incorporated into the company's RIO product architecture, its product design for high sequential bandwidth applications. Dot Hill is a provider of storage products for the enterprise market.
