Alanco Completes StarTrak Buy
Scottsdale, Arizona-based Alanco has completed its acquisition of StarTrak Systems, the company said this morning. The value of the acquisition was $15M. Alanco had announced the acquisition earlier of Morris Plains, New Jersey-based StarTrak, which provides GPS tracking and wireless data services for the refrigerated transport industry. Alanco provdies wireless tracking systems for tracking prisoners for the corrections industry, using RFID. The firm's RFID systems track inmates and officers in correctional facilities in a number of states, and also owns a number of data storage companies.
