Starz Launches Upgraded Vongo Services
Englewood, Colorado-based Starz Entertainment group, which recently unveiled a beta of its video on demand service Vongo, said today that it has unveiled a "gold" version of the service. The new upgraded service provides more content, and a higher encode rate for video. Starz said that the gold service offers over 1600 movie and video selections, and an increased quality picture for downloaded video. Starz also said that it will also cut the price to 99 cent download for certain pay per view titles, down from the current $3.99 download prices. Vongo's Internet movie delivery service features a $9.99 per month unlimited access plan, and goes up against competing services like CinemaNow, MovieLink, and MovieBeam.
