Zayo Expands Fiber To The Tower Reach In Texas

Boulder-based bandwidth provider Zayo Group said Thursday that it is expanding in San Antonio and Austin footprint, adding more than 700 miles to its network in the area for its fiber-to-the-tower (FTT) operations. Zayo did not say how much it is spending on the infrastructure build out. The new network will provide FTT service to more than 300 towers, according to the company. Zayo said the expansion in Texas comes due to significant growth in the region, across the technology, military, manufacturing, healthcare and IT service sectors. The towers support a major, un-named wireless customer via a 20 year contract.
