Webroot Adds Anti-Spyware Toolkit
Boulder, Colorado-based Webroot, a maker of anti-spyware software, has added a new software development kit that the firm said is available for network appliance OEMs. The company said that its RockSafe E1000 SDK allows developers to integrate WebRoot's anti-spyware technology into their solutions. The toolkit is targeted at network gateway appliance OEM developers, who can use it to integrate the Webroot automated spyware scanning tools into applications. Unlike the company's consumer tools, the software toolkit is used by developers to include Webroot's scanning technology. Webroot is backed by Technology Crossover Ventures, Accel Partners, and Mayfield.
