Vivint's Pedersen Gets MWCN Honors

Todd Pedersen, the founder and CEO of Provo, Utah-based Vivint, has been named the 2013 Entrepreneur of the Year by the MountainWest Capital Network (MWCN) this week, as the group recognized Pedersen's recent success in selling Vivint to The Blackstone Group last year for $2 billion. The MWCN said they'll be awarding Pedersen the award at an event on February 21st.

Pedersen founded Vivint in 1999, as APX Alarm, and has grown the firm into one of the largest home security and automation companies in North America; MWCN said the company now has over 3,200 employees, and 700,000 customers. MWCN recognized its Entrepreneur of the Year every year through an award luncheon. The group helps to promote entrepeneurs and connect local technology and other growing businesses in Utah.
