Virtela Names New CEO

Denver-based Virtela, the developer of virtual private network services, has installed a new CEO, saying today that B.V. Jagadeesh has joined as President and CEO of the company. Jagadeesh was most recently group Vice President and General Manger of the Citrix Systems' Application Networking Group. He previously was President and CEO of NetScaler, prior to that firm's acquisition by Citrix Systems, and was a co-founder of Exodus Communications. Jagadeesh also serves on the board of NetMagic Solutions, and was on the boards of Ankeena and Ocarina Networks. Jagadesh sold NetScaler to Citrix for $325M; Ankeena was acquired by Juniper Networks, and Ocarina by Dell. Virtela is backed by Norwest Venture Partners, Palomar Ventures, and New Enterprise Associates.
