ViaWest Plans Cross-Pacific Connection Service

Greenwood Village, Colorado-based bandwidth provider ViaWest is planning on a new, cross Pacific link to Asia, through its data center in Hillsboro, Oregon, the company said this week. According to ViaWest, it will begin offering access to the New Cross Pacific subsea cable later this year, providing up to 80 terabits per second of capacity between the Northwestern U.S. and East Asia. ViaWest said the connection will be to its Brookwood Data Center in Hillsboro, which has 140,000 square feet of raised floor capacity.
