Useful Networks Sold to Liberty Media's TruePosition

TruePosition, a wireless location-tracking provider and subsidiary of Liberty Media Corp., announced Thursday that it has obtained a controlling interest in Useful Networks, a Broomfield, Colo.-based startup that specializes in acquiring and sharing mobile location content. Terms of the acquisition were not made public. Useful Networks enables search companies, mobile advertisers and wireless gaming companies to incorporate location-based content to their services. Prior to co-founding Useful Networks in 2006, Brian Levin, built the text-voting system featured in the reality television show, "American Idol." TruePosition is headquartered in Berwyn, Pa.
