Univ. of Colorado Licenses Medical Technology To Mass. Firm

The University of Colorado, Boulder has licensed medical technology to a Massachusetts-based firm, as a part of a technology transfer effort for research from the school's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. According to the school, Massachusetts-based Zenwa, Inc. has executed an exclusive license with the school for polymer waveguide array technology developed by Assistant Professor Robert McLeod, for use in endoscopes and other medical devices. The school said that Zenwa has received $500K in a STTR grant from the NSF for the technology, which will also be applied to low vision engineering research to produce further aid and rehabilitation for individuals considered legally blind or partially sighted.
