TechStars Unveils New Firms

Boulder-based TechStar unveiled the incubator's 10 newest firms last Thursday, picking the ten firms from over 527 applying companies. TechStars, which was founded by Brad Feld, David Cohen, David Brown, and Jared Polis, offers equity investments, advice, and other assistance to early stage Internet startups. The ten firms selected this year include Everlater, a travel social scrapbooking site; Next Big Sound, which measures the popularity of bands on the web; Mailana, which measures social network strength; ReTel Technologies, focused on security in stores and restaurants; Rezora, software for the real estate industry; SendGrid, a service to optimize email to prevent filtering by spam software; Spry, a provider of software develompent tools; Take Comics, which converts comics to online formats; TimZon, a provider of visual feedback tools; and Vanilla, an open source, discussion board software developer.
