Techstars Foundation Picks New Nonprofits For Diversity Grants

Boulder-based startup accelerator operator Techstars has announced another wave of grants for its efforts to improve the diversity in the tech industry. Techstars said it has selected Coalition for Queens (C4Q), the GlobalEIR Coalition, and Student Dream as the newest grantees in its program, out of "hundreds" of grant requests. Coalition for Queens helps anyone of any gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic background in Queens, New York, learn to code, gain jobs in tech, and create companies; the Global EIR Coalition partners with international entrepreneurs, universities, and cities to promote job creation, grow local economies, and build their businesses throughout the United States; and Student Dream helps collegiate students of Black, Hispanic, and Native American background start companies. Techstars, along with its nonprofit Techstars Foundation arm, has been ahead of the curve in trying to narrow the diversity and gender gap in the technology industry.
