TechStars Branches Into Boston

Boulder-based TechStars, the business incubator focused on combining seed level investments with advice and mentors, said Monday that it has expanded its program to Boston. The group said that it will run a Boston program this summer, similar to the firm's efforts in Boulder, tapping Shawn Broderick to manage the program in the city. Broderick has served at Monitor Company, Genetic Anomalies/THQ, TrustPlus, and Feld Technologies--one of the firms founded by TechStars' Brad Feld. According to TechStars, it has opened up applications for its program in Boston, through March 21st. The expansion into Boston comes at an opportune time for TechStars, coming just a few weeks after high profile, seed-stage business incubator Y Combinator pulled up stakes in the city to move to Silicon Valley.
