TechoShark Looks To Connect iPhone, Facebook

Boulder-based TechoShark, a new startup focused on developing iPhone applications, said today that its new social networking application for the Apple iPhone, hoozat, is now available on the Apple App Store. The firm--which was founded by CU professor Richard Han--said that the software connects iPhone users with nearby Facebook users, allowing people to find and connect with friends and others based on their location. TechoShark, which is funded by a six-month, $100,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant from the National Science Foundation, said the firm will be extending the application to connect to LinkedIn, Twitter, MySpace and other social networking sites in the future. The Hoozat application was developed by Professor Han and his undergraduate and graduate students.
