Techniscan Medical Systems Raises $6.4M

Salt Lake City, Utah-based Techniscan Medical Systems, which develops ultrasound technology for breast imaging, has raised $6.4M in a Series D financing, the firm said Monday. Investors in the firm were not disclosed. Techniscan said that the funding comes in addition to a recent $2.8M small business innovation research (SBIR) grant it received from the National Cancer Institute (NCI)/National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2006.
